This is my first attempt at building a robot. The goal is to create something of a robot pet. It is based on an ARobot chasis.
The robot has now retired, with it's main parts being used for a design to be posted in 2004
Components:
The main processor is an OOPIC which monitors the infrared sensors to avoid ground level objects and monitor the infrared heat detector to find human targets. A Basic Stamp 2SX is sent serial commands which controls the servos for steering and head movement as well as controlling the motors and measures distance traveled. It is powered by 8 AA batteries.
